Here we are in Seattle, Washington – a living epicenter of American music and culture – getting ready for our last night on the West coast. We wanted to check in and give a little update about how the trip has been treating us thus far.

Things started off quick with three nights in the Midwest – giving us a nice chance to say what up in style to Lexington, Indianapolis and Davenport, Iowa. We left Davenport on Easter Sunday for Colorado – where we were lucky to pay visit to good friend and ally Kurt Redeker of Knew Conscious to check out his new series with the legendary live painter, now tattoo artist kris davidson as well as say hey to our pH Factor pals. Then things got really high as we trekked west for Ridgeway where we had a night off in the San Juan Valley to recharge and center before we ventured into unknown territory.

Over the next few days we cruised the craters and caverns that paint Utah’s landscapes, contemplated Mormonism, and hiked to the Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park just in time to watch the clouds break over a sunset. After 4 hours through rain, hail and perhaps the most beautiful view any of had together ever seen, we left Zion’s magnificence and dove into the belly of the beast in Las Vegas and slept next to a giant black pyramid that makes money, not energy.

Our LA load-in time got pushed back due to an HBO shoot at the Mint featuring Laura Dern called Enlightenment. What on a normal day is a sleepy, empty (usually dirty venue) was suddenly a scene of cameramen, producers, and assorted crew. As the shoot cleared out, we met up with Govinda and Amanda Sage and just before doors we were checked and ready to go.

Our first night in Los Angeles was a hit. Amanda began what would be a three night composition – and Govinda delivered a delicious dish of dirty bass and livid instrumentation. Papadosio’s set was particularly charged – perhaps inspired by the beautiful trek that was required before making it to that point. Either way – we had nothing but good feelings from our LA crowd as well as becoming a force in a part of the country where independent art and music has taken a huge hit in recent years. And given that even in the face of the Coachella and Lucidity Festivals – we still had a great show and we expect many good things to come.

After loading out of the Mint, we took off into a stormy night for Yoshi’s Lounge of San Francisco. We were super excited about our first show with Euphonic Conceptions and stoked to see all the live art that was brought into Yoshi’s zen-like space. With Amanda Sage and Govinda on board again, we threw down a dynamic array of artistic energy for the Bay Area that brought in a lot of old friends and made many a new. The following night, the dance floor took flight as Sebastopol rolled into the friendly neighborhood Hop Monk Tavern for the end of our first trip with the one and the lovely Amanda Sage. It was an adventure and a half – and we can’t wait for the next installment.

Time then disappeared for a few days as we hiked the rocky north California coast and treaded through the redwood forests of the ancients. After getting a little bit lost, we rejoined society at the Historic Ashland Armory with a super amped and activated Ashland crowd. In similar form, Portland’s Mt. Tabor Theatre welcomed us with open arms and brought the love. Then our Oregon trails came to a merry end at the Imagine Yourself on Music Extravaganza featuring Tipper and Govinda in Bend, OR.

We left from the land of beer in Bend for the forests of fungi in Olympia – to start what we hope will be a long-term relationship with the Washington state. The pure abundance of energy from the Oly crowd was the real sight to behold that night – a testament to he nature of the Olympic Peninsula. Then we blasted off the next night in Bellingham with a small, but potent group. We celebrated our last night with Shane aka Govinda with an unforgettable ‘Polygons’ sit-in that we look forward to tapping into again in the future.

All in all, we feel incredibly blessed here at Papadosio to be continuing on our quest in this way. It seems we’ve stumbled upon a whole other world to explore and be explored by. Abundant natural terrain, spring showers, and inquisitive young humans has once again opened us up to a whole new year of love and experience – that we can’t wait to share with you.

However, the Awake Inside train is indeed nearing its final destinations. We will round out our Pacific Northwest adventures tonight at Nectar’s Lounge in Seattle before beginning the push back east first though Missoula, Bozeman and Jackson before getting deep in Covington, Floyd and finally for a Richmond Cinco de Mayo not to miss.
